*big* baby day

literally.  Two baby boys born today, and both weighed in at nearly 9 pounds.  Holy moly!  I am not going to lie - that makes me a little nervous!

But, more than nervous, it makes me really excited!  I am the next person on our baby boom list.  I am in my 35th week.  And, as everyone likes to remind me that "anything can happen."  i.e. pack our bag!

I had a great massage today and love love love Megan and her magical hands!  It felt great and came at a great time when I was exhausted from heat and work.  I just need to get a few pedicures on the calendar too :)

So, from now until baby it is time to shop, relax and follow any and every old wives tale to bring on this baby on time!  Erin and the kiddos are coming!!  So, pray for an on-time or few days early arrival.  Do you think "operation walk the baby out" or better known to most as the Indiana State Fair is an old wives tale??

I have some belly pics to upload and will get to that soon!  Until then, it's back to air conditioning and laying around.  Oh the life :)

:: giddy ::

I was so giddy this morning on the way to work.

2011 is going to be an a-ma-zing year

Let's break it down...
  • Moving Moving and more Moving! 3 houses sold, Aunt Ronda & Lins in Carmel, new house for my parents after nearly 27 years in the same house. Aunt Ronda and Steve a mile down the street. Wow!
  • Babies! So many exciting blessings this year- and 3 born already in 2011! The newest little guy born to Erin & Keven just this morning! And many more to come in May-August. I am excited that we are at the tailend of our friends (at least until more make announcements) so we can enjoy everyone's big events in preparation for ours!
  • First Birthdays! These are always exciting, and this year we can celebrate Owen, Evan, Chase, Olivia and Maisie! plus more I may be forgetting!
  • Weddings! Our second wedding of 2011 is next weekend, and then three more this summer and fall. So fun!
  • Hindostone! David is in charge - watch out! With the sale of Kipp, David can really focus on Hindostone, his staff, his sales reps and making 2011 the best year yet - and I know it will be!

It must be the warm southeastern breeze that is acting like crack around our house - but we are just so excited for what 2011 brings. And those are just milestones...let's not forget the small things that make the best memories such as weekends away, Bloomington in the spring and summer, Symphony on the Prairie, deck dates with our neighbors, bike rides and visits to the lake.

In the words of the best french fry maker around..."I'm lovin' it!!"

my phoenix bambino

She's not really mine - but isn't this picture cute? I love it!

Maybe AJ looks so cute because of her sassy outfit: jeggings + crystals on her sweatshirt!

Come back soon, Avery & Jen!

A whirlwind week

As David and I are relaxing tonight - its hard to believe we are on the other side of the crazy week we had been talking about/preparing for since the beginning of November. So, please excuse the many many photos below. It was simply easier to upload all at once to share!

Our week o'fun started with a trek to B-Town on Sunday with Matt (Bo) and Sarah (MoMo). David and I ensured they had a yummy brunch at Village Deli and a drink at Nick's before the game. It was actually a great game vs. Evansville. Big crowd, energetic visiting fans and better seats once we snuck down during the 2nd half. (p.s. this is David's favorite quest - where can he find the best seats!)

Then, we actually passed on Tuesday night's IU game (for the sake of sanity) and had our next evening of fun on Wednesday. A loud and fun group of 10 of us went to ZING for dinner then off the to SNC concert. It was so fun!

Then, came Thanksgiving on Thursday. I decided to get a farm-fresh turkey this year. David and I are trying to be better about how our environment impacts us, and how we impact the environment. So, that meant no butterball turkey for us. I found that Joe's Butcher Shop in Carmel had farm raised turkeys at a reasonable price. So, on Wednesday I picked up our 20 pound bird. Yes, 20 pounds. I brined him and could barely lift him off the counter with his own weigth and the water. We had more laughs when I realized that a heart and neck were still in the cavity for me to remove. ew and more ew. But, we laughed.

mr. turkey about to get brined.

apparently we need to get David his own apron :) The bird is about to be carved! David did a great job cooking, basting and carving the turkey!

Then, Friday was another IU Game! We did start the day with a nice brunch at patachou (hello guilty pleasure broken yolk sandwich!) and then meet up with mom & dad for dinner at Yogi's and the game. Another win for IU!

david and I at Yogi's
Saturday - Oaken Bucket Game! We tagged along with our friends - Kelly & JP, and Kelly's family, to Purdue for the Oaken Bucket game. This was our first time tailgating at PU and while we are not fans of the school/teams/stinky town, there was NO tailgate traffic, we pulled right in by their parking lot (where they had a pass) and got right out of town after the game. None of those things happen in Bloomington. We snagged 3 of their tickets and had a great time inside for the first half. We decided to go back to the tailgate for the 2nd half - so we missed the big interception > fieldgoal > win sequence.
4 out of every 5 girls say "the knit flowered headband is the best!' Apparently we need to get Sarah Mo one :)

David and JP
The boys. Kelly's entire family went to PU, except for her. And, now all 3 kids have married or are marrying IU grads. Makes Randy mad :) Here is david covering up Randy's PU jacket!

Jordan was there tailgating with the Huffmans! Even though it was only for a few minutes - it was so great to see her and chat! She was also surrounded by PU fans. I bet they hazed her the entire ride home on the Belle :)

awesome seats!

Sara(h)s at the game
Then on Sunday I finally was able to meet Olivia! She is such a "Luoma" and so tiny and sweet. Compared to other 2010 babies I have cuddled, she is the most petite little thing. So sweet!

big hands + small baby = weird photo shot
We were also invited to enjoy the Colts game with one of David's vendors. So, we pulled up our bootstraps, found some energy (somehow) and went downtown for a short tailgate and the game. We did leave early (yikes! what a game!) so we were in bed around 12:30 a.m. Not too bad :)
David and I before the kickoff
So, there you go. A whirlwind week. Now, its back to reality - with lots to do, a house to decorate, books to read, work to finish, holiday events, etc. But, we are enjoying the couch - for tonight at least.

April Fun!

April has been super busy and super fun - and we're just getting started!

David and I started the April fun by spending last Friday evening/night downtown. We walked all around and made it to the all-star game, scotty's, the Why Store at Slippery Noddle and STP at White River. Then, I was lucky enough to be invited to the Final Four game last Saturday - FUN!! Thanks, Sarah! We had a great time and although David didn't score a ticket...I think he also had fun at the bars :)

Karen, me and Sarah

I was actually offered a ticket for the championship game as well, but declined to hang out with david and friends (awww, I know...such a sweet wife).

David and I at Slippery Noodle for the Championship Game

Then onto a weekend of showers for Padge! Kelly, Laura, Tracy & Kim hosted a couples BBQ Diaper Party on Saturday night and then Elizabeth and I hosted a shower today.

Lots of fun! I didn't get too many pics of the shower - but Sara did on her nice camera so I will share those when I get them!

It's Time to Celebrate!

After nearly 8 weeks in the NICU...Avery Jade is home.

(sorry for the pic quality, it is from a text from Jen)

I am so excited for this milestone in Avery's life (and Jen & Ben's!!). Please keep them in your thoughts & prayers that Avery only gets stronger and continues to WOW us with her growth and progress.

You may recall that Avery's due date was Sept. 17 and the Dr. initially told Jen & Ben that she would most likely be in the hospital until her due date. If this is any indicator of her tenacity and sassiness (after all...she is Jen's daughter...) then watch out world, the adventure has just begun for the Waldrons!

Great Weekend

The weekend started off great with a day in sun on Friday-oh and taking a day off work! ALWALYS good for the soul!

A group of us from work went to the DMB concert so we started the festivities early at jill's house laying in the sun and sippin' margaritas!
The life...drinking Strongbow, in a sundress in my IU chair tailgating before a great concert with super fun friends. Lovin' summer!

we were super low in the pavillion that I was able to snap a great pic of Dave...even on my phone!

On Saturday, David hauled rock for under the deck (read: David kicks butt at outdoor duties!) and I went to Allisonville Nursery and Lowes. Then...we were off to meet the newest baby...

Introducing...

Jasper Meyer Sterley

What a cutie!! I went with Sara & Grant to church so David walked over with me to say hello to the little guy...and deliver a little treat for the new parents - beer & diapers-ha! Read more about Sara & Grant and Jasper here.

Then on Sunday David, Matt and Bob went to the Senior Open while I went to Beth's bridal shower. It was so fun! I love wedding festivities! Then off to my parents for some good beer can chicken and outdoor patio dining.

And now it's Monday...here we go again!

Avery Jade

Avery Jade Waldron
3 lb. 7 oz.
10:58 a.m.
UPDATE!
I talked to Jen last night, and here is the latest...Avery is off the ventilator and breathing on her own! yay! Jen was given steriods before to help stop the bleeding and they think this helped Avery's lungs to be as developed as they are.
Jen is hoping she can come home on Thursday, and they are telling them that Avery will be there until her due date (mid-september). Jen said they "have" to say that and prepare them for that, but of course things can change! They have yet to hold her...which breaks my heart...but they think by the end of the week they might get the chance. She is being "fed" nutrients right now but they either started last night or will start today with a mix of formula and any breast milk Jen can produce. Avery is in an incubator to simulate the womb and is kept warm and in the dark.
They are both doing great!!
Original Post:
Avery was born today at 30 weeks and 4 days to Jen and Ben. Jen called while still in recovery from an emergency c-section this morning (it was 11:00 in arizona when she was born, so around 2 p.m. here) Jen had yet to see Avery when I spoke to her and was unsure of her status and any future plans for the length of the hospital stay, etc. Jen went in this morning and 20 minutes later was having a c-section. Jen had been on bedrest for many weeks already. So, while the bedrest is over and Jen can work on her health and strength, Avery has a long road ahead of her.
Please keep Avery, Jen & Ben in your thoughts and prayers!
