SOTP

Friday night's Symphony on the Prairie was the music of Billy Joel. The Lassiters, Gustafson/Knepps and Glenns all had a great time! The weather was perfect and the music was fun. Oh-and we had great food and drinks too!

July Dining Dozen

Let's Luau!David and I hosted the July DD, and we went with the luau theme. These dinners weren't supposed to have themes, but I think once Tracy & Jeremy did Mardi Gras in February-the challenge of having a good theme was too good to resist!

It was the first month in a long time (since January maybe?) that ALL 12 of us were there! Yay!

The menu consisted of teriyaki chicken, grilled pineapple, pineapple fried rice and corn on the cob. AND a FUN DRINK! of course, right? While it was reminiscent of an AMF (go IU!)...it was served up in a special fish bowl. In the bowl - rum, vodka, blue curacao, pineapple juice, sprite, nerds (aquarium rock of course!) and a swedish fish! ha! They were a hit, a little strong and super fun. Now, we just need to enjoy them on a Friday or Saturday - not a Sunday!

Enjoy the pictures! Love to all the DD group!

You are in Noblesville if...

The guy next to your picnic has on a Mickey Mouse vest with NO shirt and is wearing a cowboy hat.

This was our poor attempt to look like we were either taking a picture of David & Mallory or Megan feeding Neko. Hmmm...I should have zoomed in more!

Side Note: concerts in Dillon Park on Thursday nights are fun! See you there on the 30th at 7 p.m. for Living Proof!

We've got the Fever!

On Friday night David and I took Jason & Shane to the Indiana Fever game. We won the tickets (and t-shirts & hats) at the Man & Woman of the Year grand finale auction.

We started at Scotty's (love it!) and had a great time! Our seats were in the 5th row...and while there were some annoyingly intense fans around us, it was fun being so close!

Oly from Special Olympics. I was sitting here waiting on David and sneaky David had this mascot come up to me and just stare at me...I was quick to realize David was somewhere with the camera. Smile!

Avery Jade

Avery Jade Waldron
3 lb. 7 oz.
10:58 a.m.
UPDATE!
I talked to Jen last night, and here is the latest...Avery is off the ventilator and breathing on her own! yay! Jen was given steriods before to help stop the bleeding and they think this helped Avery's lungs to be as developed as they are.
Jen is hoping she can come home on Thursday, and they are telling them that Avery will be there until her due date (mid-september). Jen said they "have" to say that and prepare them for that, but of course things can change! They have yet to hold her...which breaks my heart...but they think by the end of the week they might get the chance. She is being "fed" nutrients right now but they either started last night or will start today with a mix of formula and any breast milk Jen can produce. Avery is in an incubator to simulate the womb and is kept warm and in the dark.
They are both doing great!!
Original Post:
Avery was born today at 30 weeks and 4 days to Jen and Ben. Jen called while still in recovery from an emergency c-section this morning (it was 11:00 in arizona when she was born, so around 2 p.m. here) Jen had yet to see Avery when I spoke to her and was unsure of her status and any future plans for the length of the hospital stay, etc. Jen went in this morning and 20 minutes later was having a c-section. Jen had been on bedrest for many weeks already. So, while the bedrest is over and Jen can work on her health and strength, Avery has a long road ahead of her.
Please keep Avery, Jen & Ben in your thoughts and prayers!

One Down...

Many more to come!

We celebrated our First Anniversary this weekend with a trip to Bloomington! We were able to squeeze in almost everything we love about Bloomington in about one and a half days.
We started at Olivery Winery with some wine tasting and a picnic. Despite the rain, it was great! We were able to stay dry under the porch at a cute table overlooking the grounds. We celebrated with a bottle of their Chardonel -awesome! We highly recommend it!
Then, onto check in at the Grant Street Inn. It was fun to stay at the B&B where we stayed on our wedding night. The actual room was booked, but we were in the cottage which was super cute.
We walked to Grazie, where we had our rehearsal dinner, and enjoy a big italian dinner. And, then of course onto Nicks! This is also where we went after our rehearsal dinner. We weren't really trying to recreate the wedding weekend-those are just our fav places !
It was quite entertaining to sit at the bar for a few hours and watch people order, gossip, not tip the bartenders (more than you want to know!). David of course even chatted with a few. Then we topped the night off with cheesy bread from Mad Mushroom-yay! A perfect day!
Sunday was spent walking around campus, shopping and then lunch at Upland before heading home. What a great anniversary weekend. I can't wait to spend each anniversary in Btown!

Wii Active

I just started the 30 day workout program on the Wii with the new active "game." It was really fun setting up the profile and learning how it works. You have goals and a workout plan for the 30 days. At the end of each session you can win trophies and also medals (for completing the "homework" at the end telling about your diet & activity from the day before). Today I earned 2 trophies...what what! I earned the one you get when you start and then the 100 calories burned. Not all that exciting, but for a short work out I will take it!

Is anyone using this? Do you have any pointers? You can do more than one person at a time so I am currently accepting challengers :) I will need to do more cardio with this, and am considering getting a bike.

Yay for a good start to July! I took my sister's body attack class on July 1 to kickoff the new month. She is an awesome teacher-and it was tough! I also took an hour walk today and then did the Wii Active. Small steps...but at least they are in the right direction!

I will keep you posted on my progress!

SKYPE US!

If you read my sister's blog, you know she just recently blogged about joining Skype. We wanted her to join so we could more easily talk to Jack & Reagan. When she posted that I realized that I never announced that we had joined!

Our Skype name is indyglenns. If you are on Skype-let us know!

Well Deserved

As many of you might know, my dad is now retired after 25 years at Noblesville Schools. Wow! Can you even imagine working at one place for 25 years? I can't at all, but I think with my dad's passion for education and the various positions he held...it was easy for him.

My dad was also given the Distinguished Hoosier Award by Governor Mitch Daniels. It is an award for Hoosiers that have excelled in their field. To say my dad excelled in his field is an understatement! What an honor! The Distinguished Hoosier is one of the highest awards given by the state of Indiana to its citizens.

Noblesville Schools also had a reception to honor my dad in late May. Here is a cute pic of the Lehmans celebrating dad joining the retirement train! Oh the life of retirees...
While we hoped that day would take some time to relax, drive his Corvette and really do anything he wants to...he already has plans for his next adventure-stay tuned!
