Tis the Season!

More holiday decor is up (a big thanks to my mom!) and I am so excited.

The story behind the tree: I have been wanting a bigger tree than the one I had before but wasn't seeing anything I liked. And, let's be honest, could find better ways to spend a few hundred bucks. So, the pouting only lasted a few days :)
Little did I know that David really heard me when I would talk about a bigger tree-ha! He came home one day a couple of weeks ago with a "surprise" in his car. A huge box containing a HUGE tree! It turns out a restaurant that went out of business was storing their stuff at Kipp. Well..if you've got no business...you don't need a tree, right?? Aside from having to shake fake snow out of it's branches, it was perfect!

Well, perfect aside from one thing-it's size. 8.5 feet tall and 6 feet wide. holy holly, where were we going to put that? I thought my "free tree dream" had died until the December Dining Dozen and the idea of a partial tree was born.

Behold the 1/4 tree. I'm in love.

Can't even tell can you? :)

garland up the stairs (looks better lit!)

my holiday crafting! SO proud :)

I have to thank Padge for the craft idea and my mom for all of her help "fluffing" the tree, making sure the lights were perfect and helping arrange the ornaments and dining room table.

HELP!

My goal is to read 12 books in 2009. Well, I am on the 10th and I need TWO MORE GOOD READS!

Any suggestions? Check out my book list for 2009 at the bottom of the blog. No, I will not apologize for the fact that 4 of the 9 are the Twilight series :)

The Lights are Lit

Not much else is decorated at the Glenn home...waiting on the perfect ribbon for the tree and garland...but the lights are up!

not a great picture, but you get the idea!

Oh, and Harley says Merry Chrismukkah!

another boy!

William Thomas Brown
"Will"
Born on Halloween!!
6 lbs 8 oz

Congratulations to Lauren & Jason! I can't wait to meet him! There have been so many boys this year! Avery is the only girl and then a junior league friend is having a girl in December....but that is it. blue blue blue!

seriously?

October is really over? well...that was fast!

We had a fun week this week leading up to an always fun Boling Halloween Bash!

On Thursday we had the Sterleys and Mortons over for GGCs (gourmet grilled cheeses) and tator tots! It was an ode to grade school lunches! It was fun with babies and good food!

twins! David & Parker

Then on Friday my co-workers and some friends decided to do Run Like Hell - a 3 mile run downtown on the canal. Mallory did a great job with our costumes...we were months of the year (I am Uncle Sam!). But the weather stunk so we just checked in to get our shirts, and then meet the boys at Scotty's! It was the best race I've ever done! Somehow Matt & David got us the back boardroom at the downtown Scotty's so our big group of 19 had a great time!

Then Saturday night we passed out candy at home and then went to our standing halloween plans-the Boling Halloween Bash! We were Popeye, Olive Oyl and a can of spinach! While we didn't win best group costume-we were proud of our crafty work! Isn't Harley the cutest can of spinach?

I caved

The rumors are true, I did join Facebook this week.

Here are my top three reasons for joining:

Mr. "Almost 5 and loving life" - Jack Waldner
Miss "I'm Cute and I know it" - Reagan Waldner

Miss "Early Bird Special" - Avery Waldron
I realized I was missing out on some pictures and comments about the 3 cutest kids in my life, who also happen to live the farthest away from me too.
I hope it's worth it :) My co-workers are definitely excited. As are my friends..as Laura put it "good, we don't have to keep filling you in on stuff" and as Steve put it "welcome to 2004." ha!

B-Town

Last weekend we spent Saturday in Bloomington, doing some of our favorite things! We started with a picnic at Oliver (check out the Chardonel-its delish!) then to the 4th Street Art Festival and then to Nicks for a brew. Then a treat for each of us - the Chocolate Moose for me and a stop by Upland for a case of Octoberfest for David!

Enjoy the winery photo shoot!

Puppy Jail

We had a fun cookout last Friday night at Sara & Grant's. I love friends with fences because Harley gets to tag along! We had to use the gate to keep the doggies downstairs while we ate because they were running around the table, panting, foaming at the mouth (Harley) and begging (Roxy & Arthur). They looked so sad in "puppy jail"

oh come on....you know you love us!

Getting ready to leave the house. Cookouts you can walk to are the best!! Notice David wearing the oven mits-ha!

New Glasses & Hair

Lighter glasses....darker hair...

I have been looking for clear plastics for a long long time and I finally found a pair I love. I also went one step closer to my "winter hair" (i.e. a little darker). I am impressed with Lindsay's ability to get me to do highlights too! ha! Need a good hairstylist? Lindsay at Style in Broad Ripple rocks!

Mr. & Mrs. Barrett Esarey

Congratulations to Meredith & Barrett!
I knew this wedding would be top notch and that meredith would not leave one detail overlooked-and I was right! It was beautiful!! (and not just because it was green!)

Bella Grace Studios in Louisville KY was our wedding photographer and how we get to see them at two of our friends' weddings this year.

BGS has posted a sneak peak of Meredith & Barrett's big day on their blog, check it out!

It's Time to Celebrate!

After nearly 8 weeks in the NICU...Avery Jade is home.

(sorry for the pic quality, it is from a text from Jen)

I am so excited for this milestone in Avery's life (and Jen & Ben's!!). Please keep them in your thoughts & prayers that Avery only gets stronger and continues to WOW us with her growth and progress.

You may recall that Avery's due date was Sept. 17 and the Dr. initially told Jen & Ben that she would most likely be in the hospital until her due date. If this is any indicator of her tenacity and sassiness (after all...she is Jen's daughter...) then watch out world, the adventure has just begun for the Waldrons!

Jordan's Trip to Indiana

It is always so great when Jordan comes back to IN for a trip home. We all met at Mudsocks for a nice dinner outside to catch up. I don't think there was one moment of silence all dinner...more like 4 conversations all going on at once. It was so great to see her!

jordan & cole

new hobby?

probably not, but at least I used the canvases that Padge and I bought more than 6 months ago. I had a big plan for the guest bedroom but then couldn't commit to my colors so the canvases went unused, until now...

you remember the before:

green canvas

painted damask print

yes I also think the bottom half looks like a bug...but I like them and appreciate the work it took to paint, trace and paint.

a big thanks to Padge for continuing to push me to do something with the canvases. She is the ultimate maker of her own art - just see for yourself...click here and here.

1859 Balloon Voyage

David, Tracy and I visited the 1859 Balloon Voyage exhibit at Conner Prairie tonight. But, due to the weather the balloon was not flying! Well, we made the most of our trip out there to learn about the balloon voyage...you know, so we are know-it-alls when we use our rain checks later this summer.

We are dorks.

conner prairie is only fun if you make the most of it-ha!

Saturday Fun

On Saturday morning, my mom, sister and I went to Greensburg to visit Melea, Aaron, Caaden and their new addition - Kenlee Jane!

Then it was a night of family fun at Symphony on The Prairie! It was the Music of Queen!

The Kids (again, the photographer's shadow on David-ha!)

We had a super fun night and the music was great! More pics to come!
