Avery Jade

Avery Jade Waldron
3 lb. 7 oz.
10:58 a.m.
UPDATE!
I talked to Jen last night, and here is the latest...Avery is off the ventilator and breathing on her own! yay! Jen was given steriods before to help stop the bleeding and they think this helped Avery's lungs to be as developed as they are.
Jen is hoping she can come home on Thursday, and they are telling them that Avery will be there until her due date (mid-september). Jen said they "have" to say that and prepare them for that, but of course things can change! They have yet to hold her...which breaks my heart...but they think by the end of the week they might get the chance. She is being "fed" nutrients right now but they either started last night or will start today with a mix of formula and any breast milk Jen can produce. Avery is in an incubator to simulate the womb and is kept warm and in the dark.
They are both doing great!!
Original Post:
Avery was born today at 30 weeks and 4 days to Jen and Ben. Jen called while still in recovery from an emergency c-section this morning (it was 11:00 in arizona when she was born, so around 2 p.m. here) Jen had yet to see Avery when I spoke to her and was unsure of her status and any future plans for the length of the hospital stay, etc. Jen went in this morning and 20 minutes later was having a c-section. Jen had been on bedrest for many weeks already. So, while the bedrest is over and Jen can work on her health and strength, Avery has a long road ahead of her.
Please keep Avery, Jen & Ben in your thoughts and prayers!
