David and I hosted the July DD, and we went with the luau theme. These dinners weren't supposed to have themes, but I think once Tracy & Jeremy did Mardi Gras in February-the challenge of having a good theme was too good to resist!It was the first month in a long time (since January maybe?) that ALL 12 of us were there! Yay!
The menu consisted of teriyaki chicken, grilled pineapple, pineapple fried rice and corn on the cob. AND a FUN DRINK! of course, right? While it was reminiscent of an AMF (go IU!)...it was served up in a special fish bowl. In the bowl - rum, vodka, blue curacao, pineapple juice, sprite, nerds (aquarium rock of course!) and a swedish fish! ha! They were a hit, a little strong and super fun. Now, we just need to enjoy them on a Friday or Saturday - not a Sunday!
