and just like that...

2014 is 3/4 of the way over (almost).  There have been so many times I wanted to or was inspired to post to the blog.  And then there wasn't time, and so a photo went up on Instagram or via text instead.

Since this year has been one to remember (that's nearly laughable at this point!) I thought I should at least try to capture the milestones.  And will photo dump later.  Love my iPhone but hate that I don't take more pics with the camera or make more photo albums.  We will work on that in 2015...

So, here goes nothing...

2014
based on Sara's memory...which is bleak.  Disregard any errors :)

January

  • Sara and kiddos survived the polar vortex with David traveling
  • Sara conquered Whole 30.
February (so far, this month takes the cake!)
  • Sara, Grammy, Hads & Brady ventured to Boston.  Travel was a success!
  • Sara enjoyed not being on Whole 30 in Boston! Hello wine...
  • Hadley's 1st trip to the ER and 1st stitches
  • Sara interviewed for and accepted a new job, managed two weeks of overlap between new and old jobs and said goodbye to her LLS family after 6 years (whoa)
  • After only a week on the new job, a discovery was made - B3 was on his or her way (WHAT?)
March
  • Seriously cannot remember much happening in March (phew) aside from normal 1st trimester stuff, the discussions on "um, should we move??" and prepping for April vacation
  • We told the Lehman's about B3 and started car shopping for a third row vehicle!
April
  • Sara and David jetted off to Mexico with the Evernhams...what was already their babymoom became one we shared.  The announcement to them was priceless...
  • And, while telling the Wannamakers about B3 via Facetime from Mexico...we learned baby W #2 is on the way - yippee!
  • We told David's family about B3 and started to tell our friends too!
May

  • We make an offer on a house and it's accepted!!  Get ready Carmel, here we come!
  • Ramsey drive on the market!
  • Memorial Day Weekend getaway to Greensboro...the big girls had a blast as always, Brady survived the girls and a connecting flight and Sara & Cameron sat around and chatted pregnancies. So fun to have kiddos close in age!
June

  • Brady turns 1!
  • Sara is 20 weeks pregnant at Brady's 1st birthday (we are still in shock to some extent at this point)
  • Ramsey Drive sells!
July
  • Close on both homes, within a week, David is a GC for a week and managed vendors and the move like a rockstar
  • Sara leaves for a week of business travel right after moving in (poor timing!)
  • Hadley starts sleeping in a big girl bed!
  • Hadley enjoys two weeks of swim lessons
  • New house gets so much needed love...floors, paint, updates, etc.  So much more to come!
August
  • The Glenns and Lehmans sneak off to South Haven for a week - so much fun!
  • A third row car is now ours...whoa!
  • Hadley turns 3!
  • We continue to settle into the house and enjoy the pool a bit more
  • The Waldners come to Indiana!  Hadley's best 2 weeks ever!
  • Hadley is rocking the big girl potty!
September
  • Labor Day weekend pool party is a blast.   This weekend is the start to Sara feeling "different" for some reason
  • We have a walker - finally!  He's been able to walk for weeks, but wouldn't use it as his primary mode of transportation until literally 15 months exactly.  Silly boy.
  • Sara is put on bed rest - a shock to her, our home and our work-lives.

That's all for now...I think I should just continue to update this list to keep to laugh at one day.  One day..

Six months and winter fun!

I have been overcome lately by remembering how much I love the 6-month baby age.  The laughs, smiles, rolling, sitting, flopping around the crib at night, scarfing down baby food (new for us!) and just being so content to sit and play.

I know he will continue to grow at an alarming rate - so we better enjoy the immobile fun now! ha!  He was 90% for weight, 92% for height and 70% for head circumference at his 6-month appointment.  Big Boy!  That was even before starting baby food.  He loves Hadley, loves to grab for anything we have in our hands (books especially), loves to roll and find a way to his favorite toy and still likes the jumperoo.  He has a new car he loves to play in, has this crinkly book about tails that's a huge hit and thinks his new John Deere tractor is pretty cool when Hadley goes blazing by pushing it.  Baby food is a hit: peas, asparagus and fruit especially!

We've had lots of winter fun - a neighborhood sleigh ride, a ride down the slide at Jolly Days at the children's museum, checking out the trains at Jingle Rails at the Eiteljorg, building a snowman with Anna (young girl across the street who Hadley loves), Hadley's 2nd IU game with Mommy & Daddy, scoping out the gingerbread masterpieces at Conner Prairie with Sam & Taylor and most recently being holed up in the house with mommy - ha!

Enjoy the photo dump!

Brady and I "cuddling" on the family sleigh ride

Anna & Mia teaching Hadley now to eat snow

clearly the lessons worked!

Brady watching the girls have all the fun.

Getting a ride around the yard from Daddy!

Earning the fun with some chores.  Loves her shovel!

Family photo opp at the sleigh ride

all the Glenns coming down the slide! Jolly Days!

Daddy & Hadley zooming down fast!

Riding a horse at the Eiteljorg

A yellow train was on this track - can you tell how intent she is on waiting for it?

Mmmm popcorn.  Hads and DG ate this entire bucket!

Hoooooosiers!

Loving his peas!  And being in the booster seat at La Hacienda..yum!

The car!  Hadley "waiting" on her turn.  She's pushy.

Hads & Sam at lunch after Conner Prairie - look, a leaf!

Brady now enjoys the high chair or our booster when at restaurants!  Go Brady!

Snuggling up to the babysitter - overnight at Grammy & Gramps!

Cheers! I turned 32!

We love Bakersfield and the chance to sleep in!

Brady being tormented during his first overnight at Grammy & Gramps house

Hadley insists on sitting next to Gramps in his chair.  looks comfy!

The masterpiece!

Waiting patiently for the icing and goodies!

Brady is 6 months old!!

looking too big in that chair already!

4 months!

better late than never, here is Brady Boo at 4 months old!

At his Dr. appt. he was 16 lb and 6 oz, also 75% for weight.  And 75% for height.  He laughs, smiles constantly, loves laughing at his sister, does "crunches" trying to sit up to be a big kiddo like his sister, still loves to chill in his swing in the evening for a cat nap, is slowly being weened from the swaddle and still taking zantac for his reflux.  I just made some baby food and will continue to make the other veggies so we can start in the next month or so.  We will do a short stint with rice, but he clearly doesn't need to gain weight so if he can tolerate the spoon- we will move quickly to the good stuff!

pretty much, Brady makes this family more whole.  It's crazier in the evening, he is now projecting his personality and preferences on our routine and Hads is way more interested in engaging him in our every day fun and events.  But that is perfect.

He is in some 6 mo clothes, some 6-9 month clothes and just started wearing some 9 month jammies.  Yikes!

Yes, I ripped off my sticker but aren't I cute anyway?

Hadley joined Brady in the chair and jacked him between the eyes while doing so.  We had lots of screams and tears before he calmed down.  This is Hadley kissing him after saying "I hit Brady."  the first of many I'm sure... I mean look at that face!

My jeans are 6-12 months.  look at my long legs!

up to no good

cheeeeeeeeeeeeese

Brady kisses.  melt. my. heart

halloween pics being posted soon!

1 Month Photo Shoot

Brady's first month wasn't that much different than Hadley's...we just realized we had forgotten a lot of the noises, the exhaustion, the prep work to get out the door, the constant diaper changing, the bottles and the mounds of laundry.  Maybe you forget about those the same way I forget about labor & delivery pain so people keep having babies??

Brady's world at 1 month:

  • lots of visitors and being held/snuggled
  • we had lots of sleep smiles at the beginning and are getting some now while he is awake
  • hadley loves to bring him his blankie, paci and lovie....sometimes smothering him but we know it is all in the name of sibling love
  • he averages 3 ounces on a bottle feeding
  • we had one 6-hour stretch of sleep at night.  only one. at least we know this time around not to get excited.
  • he loves 4:45 a.m.  yes, strange.
  • he mostly goes 4-5 hours between feedings at night and about 3 during the day (sometimes more, sometimes less.  you know - keeping us on our toes)
  • while only in the 25% for weight...he is gaining and that is all the we care about
  • we use gripe water for his belly 3-4 times a day and hope this only lasts another month or so
  • he likes the paci but just long enough to drift off to sleep then spits it out
  • we swaddle with a blankie now and switch between arms in and arms out depending on the night and what he seems to want
  • i've been able to watch Headlines on Leno too many times in the past month
  • we've taken a few walks and finally a full-family walk this past weekend
  • mostly content between feedings
  • how much he is awake between feedings depends...we can go from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours depending on what is going on around him
  • the play mat is only so-so right now
  • the rock and play is still our go-to bed at night
  • he doesn't have the same witching hour each night, but definitely a period of fussiness.  normally when we are trying to eat dinner.  of course!
  • his big sister loves him, gives him kisses and comes to find him each morning
  • i think he will be laid back - as if there is any other option!
  • mostly in newborn clothes.  0-3 months in some brands are still too big.
  • he doesn't hate tummy time and if you rub his back would probably sleep like that!
enjoy some photos from this morning- he and hadley were modeling for me!

phew....that was a quick month!

again in the chair...can't wait to watch the chair and whale shrink!

big sissy joins in to share books (the orange and yellow ones of course)

silly kiddos

smiling at the sound of his sister

and this is how most things end these days.....

Big day-1 Month!

Brady had is one month dr appointment today and is proud to say he is gaining weight and the doc is happy!!

He is...
8 lbs, 13 oz (25 percentile)
20.25" (15 percentile)

Is it possible that David and I have a baby that is only in the 15th percentile for height?  Ha!

More pics to come...but we are having too much fun with Jack & Reaggie to stop and upload our photos :). His hands and feet are also big-as you can see in the first photo. Big Paws Brady!

He looks "leggy" in the first photo and I can't wait to see how much smaller the chair will get each month for our photos.

Happy 1 Month Brady Boo!!
