bye bye December...

...we are not sad to see you go.  It's been a month to remember in our house.  Starting December 9th with Hadley, one person in this family and house has been sick since then and we aren't slowing down.  It just keeps knocking one of us out.  Hadley missed more than a week of school, we visited the Dr. on Christmas Eve and David even made a trip to the ER (on my birthday no less-cheers!)

Needless to say that while we had loads of fun, we paid the price too!  We are ready to say hello to 2013 and good health!

December was packed full of activities and family!  We had breakfast with Santa, flew down the slide at Jolly Days at the Children's Museum, ate latkes for Hanukkah at both Jaime's and Cease & Doug's new homes (let the Evernham/Glenn Chrismukkah tradition continue!!), gazed at trains and scenery at the Eiteljorg's Jingle Rails, had a special Christmas Eve with Grammy & Gramps and then enjoyed the Johnson fam on Christmas.  phew.  All that with 20+ days of sickness (and counting).  Oh, and we work.  yowzas!

Hadley also started a new "school" on Dec. 3rd.  We are still in the transition phase (this better be a phase!) and will hopefully soon make some progress toward a happy drop off and pick up (yes, pick up is also bad.  strange we know!)

Hadley is so. much. fun. right now! She has SO many words and I keep meaning to get them all down. She talks non-stop, still doesn't like mealtime, loves milk, takes 3 hour naps, gives great kisses, says "bye-bye, night-night" when she's ready to go to bed and wants to be put down, tells us when she is dirty and walks to her changing table and is the biggest mimic I know.  I swear she can learn a new word just hearing us use it a few times.  She is a social butterfly!  She is exploring new toys, new uses of toys, new activities and new boundaries.

My parents have the Jolly Days and Jingle Rails photos, but here are a few of our photos from this month....

This is a mad Hads.  Trying to get a pic of her, Hadley (yes! There is another one!) and Sam at breakfast with Santa.  No I WILL NOT sit down for you!

Not a fan this year

An ear infection and 102.7 temp cannot interfere with tunnel time!

All dressed up for Christmas Eve and making silly faces

big smiles when saying "baby" and showing us her new doll.  She wants to name it Hadley (sounds like Addie right now) but we are trying for a less narcissistic name.

Happy New Year everyone!!  Cheers for a great 2013 and more memories to be made.
