Race for the Cure

This year's race was doubly special for our family. We always walk in celebration of Grandma Bonnie's survivorship (go get 'em Grandma!! 10 Year Survivor!), but this year we also walked in celebration of Megan Ott-a 10 month survivor.

Megan was diagnosed at 32 years old, and 32 weeks pregnant. I can only imagine what she and her family have been through in the past 10 months, but she still managed to be a Race for the Cure team captain! Team KCA (Kicking Cancer's A**) raise more than $8,000!

Megan was also honored as the New Balance Survivor of the Year! What an honor!! She led the survivors parade and was even recognized on stage during opening ceremonies.

The weather was great, too! Enjoy the pictures!

Megan's picture was on the FRONT PAGE of the Indy Star today! It is a picture of her leading the survivor parade. It was an honor, and very emotional! check out www.indystar.com to see the image a little larger.

Hopefully I never have to add another name to my sign....
And we're off!
