from shrubs in pots and a pile of soil/compost:
to a freshly tilled, built-up bed with the old crappy builders shrubs removed (bye-bye!) and new ones put in!
and the other bed built up to combat the sloping yard! 
In early May I was in Fort Wayne for work and came home to my beautiful garden being put in! Going away is starting to have its perks :)
